Welcome !

About me

I was born in Mexico. I studied Physics at the Facultad de Ciencias, UNAM (Mexico) and I completed my PhD in Theoretical Physics at the University of Basel. I was postdoc of Thomas Seligman in Cuernavaca, and also in the group of Hans A. Weidenmüller at the Max Planck Institut für Kernphysik in Heidelberg. I have a permanent position as Associate Professor at the Instituto de Ciencias Físicas, UNAM.

Research interests

My Chairman does not know what I am doing but thinks it is mathematics,
The Math Department knows it is astronomy,
I know astronomers who believe it is physics,
Myself, I like what I do.

J. Ford (quoted in a paper by Robert H.G. Helleman)

I am interested in Random Matrix Theory, quantum chaos, interacting quantum many-body systems, ergodicity, hamiltonian dynamics, chaotic scattering, classical and quantum transport, disordered systems, billiards, structure and stability of narrow planetary rings, Solar System dynamics, dynamics of minor planetary objects (NEOs and NEAs), precise and mathematically rigorous numerical calculations.
